Regarded as one of the most successful product franchises in golf, Pro|SL has set a high standard for performance golf shoes by delivering comfort, traction and performance for men, women and juniors at all levels of the game.

The next evolution of Pro|SL – Pro/SLX and Pro/SLX Carbon - incorporate the most advanced materials, performance technologies and construction processes to provide golfers with revolutionary traction, comfort and control.

Giving UK media the opportunity to experience Pro/SLX at the recent launch event, they were blown away by all the new technology that has gone into the model to make it one of FootJoy’s most high performing and comfortable shoe offerings to date.

Dan Parker, Head of Footwear at Golf Monthly, openly admitted that he was not much of a Pro|SL wearer in the past stating that the shoe “simply didn’t suit his feet”, but after testing and playing a few rounds in the Pro/SLX Carbon model, his opinion shifted.

“After a proper shoe fitting and couple of rounds in the Pro/SLX Carbon, I feel like something of a convert to the franchise,” said Parker. “The outsole is truly unique and superb in all conditions, making this a true all year-round shoe, while the improvements on comfort put the Pro/SLX Carbon right up there in the comfort category.”

Some key technological advancements that have gone into Pro/SLX includes a New PWR TRAX System featuring a 3D X-Wing and Race Trak Outsole that introduces game-changing traction in all climates, whilst FJ’s StratoFoam midsole and 3D Molded Collar offers golfers exceptional comfort and a reliable, consistent fit.

Lewis Fraser, Performance Editor at Bunkered, added, “For someone who can definitely sway too much in his swing, these did a good job in mitigating that. Even on a wet day, Pro/SLX gave brilliant traction underfoot. FootJoy aimed to give traction, comfort and control with these shoes and I can safely say they’ve achieved that.”

Like its predecessors, Pro/SLX is already popular at every level of the game, including on the professional Tours. Both the carbon and core models have been worn in play by the likes of Sungjae Im, Corey Connors, Peter Malnati, Bronte Law and many more.

Richard Spink, Product Manager Footwear and Gloves, EMEA, said: “We know there is a demand in the game for spikeless shoe offerings that are able to provide golfers with supreme comfort, traction and overall performance.

“As market leaders in the industry we continue to push boundaries and develop what is possible in the spikeless category. Pro/SLX does this by being a modern golf shoe for the modern golfer featuring cutting edge innovation that will truly advance your game.”

Amongst the trade, commentary of Pro/SLX has been overwhelmingly positive with many UK retailers having had a lot of success selling the shoe since its introduction such as TGI Partner, Simon Hilliard at London Golf Club, who is seeing the demand for the model continue to grow amongst his customer base.

“We saw the shoe at pre-book and absolutely loved the look, so on delivery we set out a display of the new shoe on our FJ wall which immediately created a lot of interest.

“When it comes to the key selling points, we have definitely leaned upon the stability of the shoe as everyone that tries one on is impressed with not only how it looks but how solid it feels with your foot on the floor.

“We have a lot of members and guests who play two, three or more times a week so they need a reliable shoe that performs like it’s supposed to whilst also providing that comfort factor and having a pair myself certainly helps if a customer needs convincing.”

Pro/SLX is available in men’s and women’s styles via FootJoy stocklists.
