Accolades from Golf Monthly and Today’s Golfer reflect strong performance credentials and product innovation
Under Armour’s Drive Pro Clone golf shoe has secured dual Editor’s Choice honours, marking a significant milestone for the brand’s latest performance footwear release and its growing credibility among golfers and industry experts alike.
The accolades come from two of the UK’s most influential golf publications, Today’s Golfer and Golf Monthly, each highlighting the Drive Pro Clone’s combination of adaptive fit, comfort and traction as key differentiators within the category.
Recognition from Today’s Golfer highlighted these performance benefits, noting:
“Under Armour have taken everything that made the Drive Pro a great performance shoe and genuinely improved it with the Clone…the feel is exceptional, the traction is among the best in golf, and the out-of-the-box comfort actually holds up round after round.”
Golf Monthly praised the shoe’s balance of comfort, traction and fit, alongside its progressive upper technology and refined design. The publication cited its “exemplary grip” and described the shoe as “the perfect fit with ample support”.
At the core of the shoe is Under Armour’s proprietary auxetic Clone upper, an adaptive material engineered to shape itself to the unique geometry of a golfer’s foot. Unlike traditional fixed constructions, the Clone upper delivers a dynamic, custom-like fit that remains consistent throughout the swing and across a full round, supporting comfort and performance.
Paired with Under Armour’s Swing Support System, the Drive Pro Clone is built to unlock more repeatable power by enhancing ground interaction and providing a stable platform through impact. The result is a shoe that not only adapts to the golfer, but actively supports improved consistency on the course.

These honours build on a strong wave of independent reviews. In a previous assessment for Golf Monthly, equipment expert Dan Parker flagged the shoe as the best he’d ever tested, emphasising its ability to deliver a consistently secure fit while still allowing natural movement through the swing - a key differentiator in the category.
The Drive Pro Clone has also been validated at the highest level of the game. Under Armour athlete Jordan Spieth continues to showcase the brand’s footwear on the global stage, while recent wins wearing the product include Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen at the Australian Open. The shoe is also worn by the 4Aces GC team, further reinforcing its Tour credibility.
Under Armour Golf’s Richard Palmer-Jones said: “To receive Editor’s Choice honours from two of the UK’s leading golf titles is a clear validation of the innovation behind Drive Pro Clone. While the game has seen significant advances in equipment, footwear hasn’t always kept pace in terms of the adaptive fit process.
“The Clone upper changes that - it actively shapes to the foot to deliver a personalised fit that remains consistent from the first tee to the last. Paired with our Swing Support System, it helps unlock more consistent performance through the swing.
“The result is a shoe that not only fits better, but performs at the highest level.”
Away from footwear, Golf Monthly also recognised Under Armour’s ArmourDry Polo - a product that showcases the brand’s latest material innovation with UA Helix Technology engineered to enhance breathability, comfort and all-day wearing performance - within its Editor’s Choice section.
Available in both spiked and spikeless models, the Drive Pro Clone launched at retail with an RRP of £160 (spiked) and £140 (spikeless), and is offered in a range of colourways to suit modern golfer preferences.
