Matthew Alderton from Bury St Edmunds Golf Club has been crowned TGI PING Custom Fitter of the Year following an unforgettable trip to the brand’s global headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.

Matthew was joined on the trip by fellow finalists Gavin Byrne from Laytown & Bettystown Golf Club and Lee Edwards from Penrith Golf Hub, alongside TGI Chair Alex Keighley from Huddersfield Golf Club.
The finalists enjoyed an action-packed itinerary, including three rounds of golf, with the highlight being a visit to the iconic TPC Scottsdale. The trip also included a visit to a Phoenix Suns NBA game, alongside an exclusive tour of PING’s headquarters and its world-famous Proving Grounds.

The award presentation took place in PING’s famous Gold Putter Vault, where Matthew received his trophy from PING President & CEO, John Solheim.

“Standing in the Gold Putter Vault, meeting John Solheim and receiving this award from him was unbelievable. We've had a fantastic trip, played some great golf courses and had an amazing time,” said Matthew.
“It’s been really interesting to see behind the scenes at PING. The more you learn about the business, the more you realise how closely its values align with what we do on a day-to-day basis. It’s genuinely customer-focused, with everything centred around the customer experience and providing them with the very best products.”
